Profile

Richard has a wealth of experience in facilitating and implementing organisational and culture change, e.g. customer satisfaction and staff engagement programmes. He has also been deeply involved in contribution and performance management increasingly with an emphasis on first and foremost utilising people's strengths.

Most of all, though, it is simply working with people to help them reach a common goal which gives Richard the most satisfaction - whether it is organisational change or graduate development.

Richard has industry experience in the Avionics, IT, Utilities, Publishing and Financial Services sectors plus practical experience in coaching and mentoring on a one to one basis.

Areas of expertise and capabilities

Leadership development - Richard has acted as mentor to senior management in an IT Division of 1200+ staff, plus designed and delivered a number of development courses such as behavioural interviewing, giving effective feedback, contribution management

Team development - Richard has a great deal of knowledge and experience of helping teams recognise and play to individuals' own and each others strengths.

Organisational development - Richard has been involved in large scale organisational change initiatives and culture change programmes with a large Scottish financial institution, including implementing Gallup Q12 survey to a cynical IT division and delivering the highest return percentages in the organisation.

Favourite Maximillion event

Through his initial interest in the development of Maximillion's Eden product, Richard has facilitated development programmes with Standard Life Investments, SPSA Fingerprint Service, RBS Group, City Of Edinburgh Council and GE VetcoGray over 2007-2010.

However, his favourite is the British Energy - part of EDF Energy Graduate Induction & Development week in the Lakes - plenty of fresh air and getting wet !
