Perth and Kinross Council

In November last year, Maximillion sent out a survey asking customers about their views on environmental and social responsibility to assess how seriously these issues are being taken, and to gauge interest in a new, CSR themed event called "Eden". This innovative product was designed by Maximillion, and developed based on the answers and comments we received.

To encourage as many people as possible to respond, we offered a prize draw of a half-day Eden event for up to 40 participants. This was drawn in early December and won by Perth & Kinross Council.

Objectives

  • Improve awareness of topical environmental and social themes

Event Detail

Outline

Participants, including members of the council's sustainability committee, were welcomed and briefed on the event by the Maximillion Event Manager. The group was split into teams of six, and "travelled around the world" by either plane or more environmentally friendly land and sea to take part in a number of different fun challenges in different cities. After successful completion of each task, teams were awarded "resources" which they used to buy people, water and land plates to build communities. Members of each team also attended emergency environmental summits, which encouraged teams to collaborate rather than compete.

Feedback

"I just wanted to say thank you for a really great day! We've had really good feedback from the event and would definitely be interested in running it again (funds allowing). I think it worked really well as a team building event and it allowed me to work with some colleagues who are crucial in taking sustainability forward in the Council. Hopefully we will be able to run it again next year."
