Harvey Norman 2010

The Computers and Communication division of Harvey Norman, Ireland organises an annual conference for its staff, suppliers and HQ managers. Previously, the conference has been held in Spain and Portugal. This year, the company wanted to use a professional event management company to organise this important occasion for them, and include team building activities for the first time.

After discussions with Maximillion and considering several locations, Harvey Norman chose Edinburgh as the destination for the 2010 conference due to its easy transport links, activity options and good value. The event was held at Edinburgh's Apex International hotel.

Objectives

The main aims of this event were to:

• Reward and thank Harvey Norman staff and suppliers after a year of hard work
• Launch the New Year with a bang
• Build rapport between guests
• Communicate to guests in morning meetings

• Entertain and bond guests in fun team building activities

Outline

Maximillion was responsible for providing all aspects of this event including venue finding, ground handling, entertainment, team building activities, catering and evening entertainment. Maximillion worked closely with Harvey Norman to ensure the programme was fun and varied while still being business orientated and appealed to all guests.

• 4* accommodation at Apex International, chosen for its central location and proximity to Edinburgh's nightlife

• Kinetic Connections team building activity
• Commercial Break team building event
• Taxi Treasure Hunt around Edinburgh
• Highland Games activities with BBQ at Kirknewton Stables
• Private meal at The Caves with Bandeoke entertainment
