Carpet Curling

Experience the competitive thrill of traditional Scottish Curling, only without the need for a frozen loch or ice rink!

Curling is a sport that was originally developed in Scotland. It was traditionally played in the winter months on the frozen lochs of Scotland, and has featured in every Winter Olympics since 1998 with teams competing from Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and North America. We bring you our authentic indoor alternative to the ice rink-based version that can be played all year round!

How it works

Special carpet lanes are arranged side by side with the bulls eye target at the far ends. Using super slippy curling stones, teams take turns to  slide them towards the bulls eye, scoring more points the closer the get!. Teams can of course elect to knock opponent’s stones out the park!

Following a welcome and briefing by the Umpire and rink team, the group will be organised into their teams. A knockout tournament format will then be played out culminating in quarter finals, semi-finals and a final. The tournament will be run inside with the curling lanes (each one 10m x 2m) organised side by side. A tournament knockout score board will be maintained, charting teams progress through the tournament.

Who it’s for

Carpet curling is for you if you want to treat your staff to a fun indoors team building event. It works particularly well as an incentive programme activity to give guests a flavour of the traditions and heritage of Scotland, or as light-hearted competitive team building experience with a sporting edge.

You may also want to impress your guests with a personal appearance from one or more members of the Team GB Olympic medal-winning British Curling teams!
