Event Detail

  • Date: August 2014
  • Venue: W.L. Gore & Associates (UK) Livingston site
  • Format: Maelstrom team challenge – twin hub, five zone format
  • Guests: 200

The Brief

Gore asked for a day time event that should last no more than three hours. It should be memorable and engaging for 150 associates and retirees. The solution had to be delivered on the grounds of the plant with a bit of fun and competitiveness while encouraging team work.

The Solution

Maximillion proposed our flag ship team building event “Maelstrom”. A fast paced and energetic challenge which devolves power to the teams who must decide what to do and when to do it. Racing against the clock, teams must strategize to succeed, negotiating every move and striking key allegiances.
In order to further align Maelstrom with Gore’s objectives, some of the challenges were tailored to the celebratory theme while the unique aspects of the recently refurbished and award winning plant were incorporated into the design of the event.

The End Result

From the post event feedback, 100% of the respondents were “Happy” or “Delighted” with the overall service. Our client said:

“Just a few lines to say a huge thank you to you and all your staff for making our event such a great success last Thursday. So many people have come and said what a great time they had and how it felt like we were really celebrating and having fun. And I thought Maelstrom itself was perfect for getting everybody involved – I never thought we had such a competitive bunch.”
