In The Pipeline in Gloucester

Gloucester, "Historic Waterfront City", spans history with Roman foundations, Victorian Docklands, Gloucester Quays and the wonderful Norman Cathedral. The bustling city centre boasts a fantastic range of shops, markets, restaurants, pubs and attractions, making Gloucester ideal for corporate events, team building and conferences.

More than just a link in the supply chain!

Maximillion is frequently asked to respond to client's requests to design and deliver large scale business interventions that closely mirror current organisational conditions, and which can engage individuals and teams in practising scenarios for change.

"In the Pipeline" is a scenario-based exercise, originally designed by Maximillion in 2008 for the annual conference of a global petroleum business marketing function, which focuses on customer relationship management, yet incorporates all the key internal business relationships necessary for an effectively functioning organisation.

Through In the Pipeline we have also successfully demonstrated creative and a highly imaginative solution that simulates scenarios for organisational success.

How it works

During the exercise participants meet with their own real customers, competing to win contracts and fulfill their orders. Working in close collaboration with you, Maximillion consultants will develop an experiential model of your business supply chain. During the exercise participants have simultaneous management targets to meet covering key areas in Finance, Credit Control, Health & Safety and Quality. Participants are given tangible rewards for demonstrable examples of positive behaviours.

Key Features

  • We wouldn't want to give away too many secrets, but if you can imagine hundreds of coloured ping-pong balls being delivered through a 30 foot pipeline, you're thinking along the right lines!

Benefits for your team

In the Pipeline is an interactive team activity for cross-functional groups that is:

  • Clearly customer-focused
  • Fun & engaging
  • Promoted understanding of business priorities

The key benefit of the activity is for people to understand where they fit in the supplier-customer relationship and how they can affect that relationship. Throughout, it is essential that people would gain an appreciation of how many potential relationships and contact points there are with one customer in a business-to-business relationship.

Grounding the learning

At the end of the In the Pipeline intervention, we will engage the group in aThinking into Action session, based on the discussions, experiences and findings of the event and to explore the implications and applications of the learning back in the workplace.
