Date: 1st February 2018

What We Did

The evening began with a drinks reception and movie-themed buffet food stalls to kick-start the showtime event. Once everyone was fed, we launched into our quiz while the Principal Hotel ensured all guest tables were well equipped with a range of drinks to assist with their creative input into what lay ahead…

Our GPS Adventures Quiz Time is the perfect warm-up to a main dinner event, as a breakout mid-conference or over dinner, with trivia and themed photo / video challenges to complete, this event takes ice-breakers to the next level.

We worked closely with the Principal Team to create a couple of bespoke quiz rounds focussing on their Showtime Rewards scheme and a Principal Edinburgh picture round to test Agent and DMC’s knowledge of the George Street versus the Charlotte Square venues.

The guests competed in teams against their peers, with some fantastic prizes provided by Principal Hotels to up the ante – not that this competitive group needed any motivation to go for the win! Each team, armed with an iPad mini as their own personal quiz master, navigated through the onscreen game screen clicking on each Quiz round to open up a wide range of themed challenges, including creative photo and video challenges.

Rather than following a set round by round format, teams work their way through the tablet-based Quiz Time at their own pace in any order. Within minutes teams were up from their seats, using the full space in the room – and beyond – to create some hilarious and creative material. Re-enacting key moments in history and inventing new sports were among the videos that had the whole room buzzing with activity!

The Quiz Time duration can be tailored from 1 – 2 hours. Once we called time on the DMCs game time, collected the iPads and gave everyone a chance to catch their breath, we got ready for the wrap-up and prize-giving!

The wrap-up consisted of showing all the teams “highlights / lowlights”, which had everyone roaring with laughter at the wide range of funny photos and videos produced on the night before the nail-biting prize-winners announcements! Although everyone was a winner in their own way, the top teams and some special achievers were awarded with some fantastic Principal Hotel prizes such as overnight stays, champagne afternoon teas, Principal Gin and other goodies.
