Red e2’s client, a major mobile communications manufacturer and retailer, held a training day in Edinburgh in May. They approached Maximillion to propose a fun, afternoon team building activity which would re-enforce the morning’s product training. Following discussion, Maximillion created a bespoke Taxi Treasure Hunt to meet the client’s requirements.

Objectives

  • Encourage delegates to engage with the company’s new product
  • Opportunity for participants to express themselves in a fun and relaxed atmosphere
  • Create a positive environment for interaction between colleagues
  • Have FUN!

Outline

After lunch, delegates returned to the main conference suite and were divided into teams. Each team was allocated a team ‘phone (the new product), and tasked with gaining as many points as possible. Points could be won by completing challenges found in booklets and received through different media on phones.

Teams were issued with fancy dress costumes for team identity before setting off in their taxis, complete with trusty Cabby to help with local knowledge and entertain with witty banter.

 

Challenges included:

  • Information Hunt
  • Scavenge Hunt
  • Photo Challenge (using the built-in camera on their team ‘phones)
  • Training Challenge (answering questions on training received that morning)
  • Additional time-bound challenges received through the team ‘phones

Challenges included tracking down gorillas and conversing with frogs, ensuring a fun and light hearted event to ensure participants engaged with the new ‘phone in a fun way.

Results were announced over dinner with winners receiving top prizes and the losers being presented with the obligatory wooden spoon.
