Annual Conference November 2016

We were delighted to be invited to support the entertainment and outdoor activity requirements of Barrhead Travel staff and their guests, on the occasion of their November 2016 conference event at Trump Turnberry Resort. As a result of the success of our involvement in the the 2016 Conference event, we were invited back by Barrhead Travel to provide a programme of evening entertainment and outdoor activities at our Turnberry Adventures activity centre during their November 2017 Conference event.

Event details:

Date: Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th November 2016
Duration: Two days
Where: Trump Turnberry Resort and our Turnberry Adventures outdoor activity centre located in the resort grounds
Format: Late afternoon and evening entertainment on the Saturday, and provision of a suite of outdoor activities at Turnberry Adventures on the Sunday morning
Guests: 110 guests for the entertainment, and 36 guests for the outdoor activities

Objectives:

Barrhead Travel were looking for:

  • Something fun, interactive, competitive and light-hearted on the Saturday, that would be suitable for the mixed profile of the group and that guests could take part in over drinks
  • A programme of outdoor activities on the Sunday that staff and guests could take part in while the others in the group are golfing and taking advantage of the Resort Spa facilities

What we did:

The initial enquiry for this event, which was passed to us from our partners in Turnberry Resort Sales, was for the provision of a Murder Mystery performance to take place during the group’s evening meal on the Saturday. Through further contact with Resort Events the client, the brief developed to include a late afternoon interactive game show quiz – Amalgameation – as well as the provision of a programme of outdoor activities at our Turnberry Adventures outdoor activity centre.

On the back of the group’s daytime conference event, our late afternoon Amalgameation Game Show event in the Donald J Trump Ballroom set the scene for the evening with some interactive fun and light-hearted cross-team competition. Following this, and during pre-dinner drinks, our four professional actors mixed and mingled with the guests to ‘tee-up’ the “Death or Denial” Murder Mystery storyline. The entertainment involved an Agatha Christie-style plot that ran over the course of the dinner with scenes taking place in between courses and over coffee. On the Sunday morning our Turnberry Adventures team provided four consecutive Quad Bike Trail sessions for groups of 6 guests at a time, and running parallel to these sessions there was traditional Clays shooting and Archery. We had a full turnout for the activities, and thankfully the weather wasn’t too inclement on the day!

A diverse group of 110 staff and guests, including Barrhead Travel staff and senior management & board members, plus key suppliers, clients and partners
