Quartermile Developments

Property developer Quartermile Developments, which is developing Quartermile – a mixed-use complex of high-end residential and commercial properties in Edinburgh designed by Foster + Partners, hosted an event in April 2016 – ‘Quartermile Four Launch’.

Event details:

  • Date: April 2016
  • Where: Quartermile Developments, Edinburgh
  • Format: Launch party
  • Guests: 60

Objectives:

The aim was to mark and promote the launch of a commercial office block to prospective clients as well as celebrating ten years of Quartermile.

The event was held on the top floor of a new office building within the Quartermile development. Sixty guests were invited, with Maximillion organising all elements of the event.

What we did:

The evening started with an informal alfresco drinks reception with canapés on a terrace, with a welcome from Quartermile’s MD Paul Curran, followed by a three-course dinner.

Guests were entertained with a talk by renowned explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who detailed his adventures and responded to guest questions during a hosted Q&A session.

With the surrounding area still effectively a building site, and with a new tenant keen to occupy the space shortly after the event, we had to work around a number of challenges. These included restricted access to the event space, a narrow time window for set up which had to include fitting a carpet and the preparation of a 3-course dinner with no permanent kitchen – all on the top floor with limited lift access!

Who took part:

Sixty guests were invited, and these ranged from prospective and existing clients to partners and suppliers.

What they said:

“This is the second event that Quartermile has asked Maximillion to manage, and for the second time we were not disappointed. Our aim was to show the building in the best possible light and impress our 60 guests. Maximillion successfully took a blank canvas open-plan office and transformed it into a unique dining experience, and arranging Sir Ranulph Fiennes as our guest speaker went down a storm. We look forward to working with Maximillion in the future.”
