RBS Direct Sales

Maximillion designed a one day teambuilding event for all staff from the three RBS Direct Sales teams in Edinburgh, Yorkshire and Surrey. The event was held at Airth Castle Hotel near Stirling. An afternoon business conference and evening dinner at the castle preceded the full day event.

  • Stimulate cross-functional teamwork & communication through positive interaction, providing learning, creating workplace associations and bringing to life two of the RBS Direct Sales ‘Big Five’ core values – Building Capability & Driving Operational Rigour
  • Strengthen relationships in a fun non-threatening environment and provide a fun, memorable and rewarding experience to all participants

Outline

The main appeal of Create & Paint was its flexibility and its ability to provide a creative, non-threatening and highly engaging platform upon which the participants could create a collaborative visualisation of what the two values represent and what underpins them.

In order to successfully create the two composite canvases that reflected Building Capability and Driving Operational Rigour, each team had to complete the revenue generating arts challenges, interact and communicate closely with the other teams in the group, share resources and expertise and coordinate the allied story that would describe how RBS Direct Sales would deliver its objectives for the year ahead in the two ‘Big Five’ areas.

Outcome

The key team development objectives were achieved successfully with relationships built across the different areas of Direct Sales. The characteristics of the values highlighted were brought to life by the facilitation team through the Create & Paint activities in the morning, and further reinforced in the subsequent afternoon activities.

By incorporating the values into the stories and paintings, it has helped all participants to visualise the wider strategic picture and have a clear understanding of what underpins it, its critical nature and the part they have to play in achieving it.
