About the Venue

The venue has a variety of meeting and event spaces across its 70 acre site, located one mile from Edinburgh city centre and with access to local public transport, rail links and airport. The John Hope Gateway is the largest event space. Available for evening events with access to a large decked area overlooking the biodiversity garden. The boardroom space – the David Douglas Room – is available for hire during the day or evening for a private dinner or meeting.
The Caledonian Hall is a Victorian herbarium now transformed into an elegant and sophisticated events space. Very popular for summer events, and a short walk over the rock garden and past the waterfall, it’s an idyllic spot for social events or team away days. The Terrace Cafe is ideal for evening informal events. The real highlight of this space is the unparelled views over the iconic Edinburgh skyline including the Castle, Arthur’s Seat and the Balmoral clock. For conference and meetings the venue can also offer a tiered state of the art lecture theatre.
