This month we say a fond farewell and grateful thanks to Elina and Alison who have been fantastic assets to our team from the very start of their internships.

Elina has been with us since April doing a sterling job supporting our Operations team with a number of key events for clients such as HP, Aviagen and Chivas. Elina will be staying on in Edinburgh until around Christmas time, during which time she will be focusing on completing her dissertation on the subject of Social Media Marketing, as well as keeping a hand in with some Maximillion and MadMax Adventures event work.

Alison has been keeping our Activity Centre Manager Glen in check, supporting with the bookings and operations of MadMax and Turnberry Adventures. Alison is leaving to focus on her academic studies and we wish her the very best as she takes on fourth year,

Maximillion is now delighted to welcome our new intern Katie who has come here all the way from South Africa. We wish her all the best as she settles into her internship with the Maximillion family – and most of all good luck surviving a winter in Scotland!

A few questions to get to know her better:News

Name: Katie Pearse

Tell us a little about your background?
I was born and raised on a big farm in South Africa. At age 18 I moved to London to study Fashion Management at The London College of Fashion. After completing my degree in June I moved up to Edinburgh to be with family.

What made you want to undertake an internship with Maximillion?
Knowing that I want to work in the events industry, just unsure about the specific area, Maximillion instantly caught my eye as a dynamic company in which I would be able to learn about numerous aspects of the events industry.

What are you looking to gain out of your time at Maximillion?
I am looking to gain as much experience in as many areas of the event industry as possible during my very short time with Maximillion. I really hope as well to know which area I would like to work in by the end of this placement.

What are your career aspirations?
I definitely want to have a career in the events industry, I am just unsure about the specific area. I am leaning more towards the areas that require the most creativity.

Now for some ‘forced choice’ questions. Would you rather…

… be completely invisible for one day or be able to fly for one day? Why?
I am a very adventurous and independent person so I would choose to fly. I would then easily be able to get to beautiful remote places and see the world from a bird’s eye view.

… be able to talk with animals or be able to speak all foreign languages? Why?
Having grown up on a huge farm I would choose to be able to talk with animals. It would have made schooling horses a much easier task.

… be able to teleport anywhere or be able to read minds? Why?
Teleport definitely! I would then be able to visit my family (and the sun) back in South Africa more than once a year. I also won’t actually want to know what anyone is really thinking.
