Sporting legend and double Olympic gold medallist Daley Thompson has come on board to support the Barnardo’s Cairngorm Challenge.

Daley says:

“The Cairngorm Challenge is a great way to get fit and have fun with friends, colleagues or even the family. What’s more, by taking part you’ll help Barnardo’s transform the lives of vulnerable children in Scotland and the UK.”

The Cairngorm Challenge is a Hike and Bike Charity Challenge duathlon set in the stunning Cairngorm National Park. Staged on Saturday 10th September, there are three routes to choose from;

  • 50k Bronze
  • 75k Silver
  • 100k Gold

All have one thing in common, the ascent of Cairngorm Mountain!

Daley Thompson won the decathlon Olympic gold in both 1980 and 1984 Olympics and broke the world record for the event four times. Daley is well placed to lend his sport to this classic Scottish charity challenge which will test the mettle of even the most dedicated athlete.

All you need is a team of four and a desire to get fit to take part in the challenge of a lifetime!

The event is managed and delivered by Maximillion who designed the event in 2007 and have been running the event annually since.  Based in Edinburgh, Maximillion specialises in event management and team building and delivers team building events in Edinburgh and throughout Scotland.
