Maximillion have again achieved the coveted GOLD standard from the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS). With a physical audit carried out every two years, this is the fifth Gold Award we have won in a row, having maintained the standard since 2008.
The GTBS audit report summarises:
Maximillion Events have been members of Green Tourism for nearly 10 years, and the committment and dedication to ensuring the business is Sustainable is growing from strength to strength, year on year. The excellent GEM (Greener Event Management) programme encourages clients to book a ‘Green Event’ package, and with 3 tiers there is something for everyone. The office and warehouse are powered by solar and biomass, and this is reflected in the Excellent outcome of the Green Tourism Carbon Calculator. Other examples onsite include the use of Fairtrade products, LED lighting, low flow taps, use of environmentally friendly cleaning products and the excellent recycling facilities.
Maximillion have been working hard on its sustainability since 2006 when we first started to measure and reduce our carbon footprint. Back then, in 2006, we were responsible for 26 tons of carbon. Last year we had a positive footprint of -2.5 tons, thanks to carbon reducing measures and our 144 panel solar pv array.
