Hunting the goose in Edinburgh

Wildgoose Scotland, operated by Maximillion, hosted a series of promotional events throughout October, offering corporate buyers, agents, hotels and venues the chance to experience one of our fabulously innovative and creative GPS treasure hunts.
The hunts were hosted at three of Edinburgh’s best loved city centre hotels, The Balmoral, The George and The Sheraton. Guests were able to enjoy the fantastic hospitality provided by these properties as well as the fun GPS activity.
After some welcome light refreshments on arrival and the event brief, participants set off into the city centre with their Samsung Galaxy Tablets to locate the GPS ‘hotspots’. Only when their GPS verified that they were in exactly the right location were they able to activate the hotspot and attempt the challenge. Challenges included:
- Location specific clues
- General knowledge questions
- Photo challenges
A live scoreboard showing how other teams were faring, penalty points for incorrect answers and exciting timed challenges all added a real-time competitive twist to the afternoon.
Back at the hotel, scores were announced, the winning team was presented with their prize and everyone enjoyed a good giggle over a slideshow of all the photos taken during the event.
These promotional events were such a success that we are aiming to hold three more in the New Year – in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
