Thankfully the Maximillion team are good at remembering names! Our growth has resulted in the need to welcome new and aspiring event professionals to the family.

This month we are excited to introduce to you three new members of staff – Laura Vass, Imogen Reading, and Arran Wilson.

To get to know them a little better we asked them some gruelling questions. Continue reading to learn their answers.

First in the hot seat is Laura Vass.Laura - Maximillion 2

When will you be joining the company?

“13 June 2016” (Unlucky for some)

What will your role at Maximillion be?

“I am joining to be the New Business Development Manager.”

What have been your career highlights to date?

“I had the opportunity to work in Canada and Switzerland; and I also Completed the Destination Leaders Programme for Tourism Professionals at Edinburgh Napier University.” (We knew she was the right candidate)

If given the chance, which fictional or non-fictional person would you like to be for a day and why?

“The Queen. To find out what she gets up to!”

What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten?

“Pizza with banana and bacon.”

Tell us about a time you got yourself into trouble as a child?

“I once smashed a neighbours window with a football (by mistake!) and then ran home. I had to go back and apologise.”

Would you rather be able to fly or be invisible?

“Definitely invisible as I love playing tricks on people!” (I think we’d better keep an eye out)

Tell us about your party trick?

“Not sure I have one! Guess you’ll have to invite me to a party to find out!”

Would you rather attend school in Hogwarts or live in Narnia?

“Hogwarts! More opportunities to play tricks!”

Are we right in sensing a recurring theme? Perhaps we should say thank you to Laura just now and move on to next new recruit.

Next up up  is Imogen ReadingImogen In Norway 2

Imogen is joining Maximilion for an internship; taking place alongside her studies in Event Management at Robert Gordon University.

We asked Imogen; if given the chance, which fictional or non-fictional person would you like to be for a day and why?

“Hermione Granger! Who wouldn’t want to turn pebbles into jelly beans or fight dragons? Plus I already have the hair!”

Tell us about a time you got yourself into trouble as a child?

“I was shopping with my mum and decided to run off and hide under a rack of clothes. My mother then began to look for me…as did the store manager…and all of their employees. Apparently I watched them from under the clothes racks as they ran around in a panic. I then decided I was bored of this and popped out from underneath my hiding place; unaware of everyone’s worry.”

Would you rather be able to fly or be invisible?

“Without a doubt fly! You would never have to count on Google maps again. Just fly high enough to see what you want to, and where you want to go.”

Tell us about your party trick?

“I can bend my fingers away from my hand so that they are at right angles to each other.” (Yikes)

If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?

“The Eventful Life, because my passion is events of course!”

Would you rather attend school in Hogwarts or live in Narnia?

“Hogwarts!” (Well she was quick to answer that one)

Thank you for your answers Imogen, and the team at Maximillion are really excited to have you on board.

Finally, we welcome Arran WilsonIMG_4292

Arran joined us on the 5th of May 2016 as our latest intern. We are really excited about working with Arran, and he is the first to join us in a MadMax Adventures focused placement.

Lets ask him some questions!

Having been with us for a few weeks now, what is your favourite aspect of the role?

“What I love most about working at Maximillion is the different people you get to meet. Second to that is the wide variety of events that take place throughout the company.”

If given the chance, which fictional or non-fictional person would you like to be for a day and why?

“Without a doubt Harry Potter. I would particularly choose the day he kills Voldemort in the Battle of Hogwarts – he showed great courage and determination throughout, and of course, killed the Dark Lord.”

What is the strangest food you have eaten?

Maize, in Malawi. It’s what they all eat over there and it is meant to be nutritional. In my opinion however, it had the texture of mashed potato and the taste of absolutely nothing!!”

Tell us about a time you got yourself into trouble as a child?

“I pushed my little sister down two flights of stairs in a little tykes car when she was 3. For some reason my parents weren’t too happy about that?” (We might know why, Arran)

What is your party trick?

“I can open a bottle with a spoon and also a piece of paper if its thick enough.” (Did we mention that Arran is a student?)

Would you rather attend school in Hogwarts or live in Narnia?

“Tough one again, I would quite happily go to Narnia for maybe a day trip or a long weekend but there’s no way I could turn down the opportunity to attend Hogwarts! It Would be a dream come true!”

Thank you all for letting us delve into your life, and we are really excited to find out more!

Once again, on behalf of the Maximillion team, a warm welcome to you all.
