New Faces at Turnberry Adventures

August 10, 2016 : Uncategorized

We are delighted to introduce our two Turnberry Adventures Site Managers – Julie Callan and Ben Robertson. They both joined us this summer to manage the centre and the delivery of all our on site activities, including Quad Biking, Archery, Air Rifles, Clays Shooting amongst others.

Turnberry Adventures is located on the 5 star Trump Turnberry Resort, and the activity centre is currently open for business seven days a week up until the end of August, then Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September. Ben and Julie would be delighted to welcome you to the centre and provide you with a memorable outdoor activity experience.

To get to know them a little better we posed them a few quick but quirky questions. Continue reading to learn their answers.

First up is Julie:

When did you join the company? Joined July 2016 julie callen resized

What is your role at Maximillion? Site Manager at Turnberry Adventures

What have been your career highlights to date? Moving from the role of Medical Practice Manager to teaching Forest School and instructing canoe, sea kayak and stand-up paddle-boarding.

If given the chance, which fictional or non-fictional person would you like to be for a day and why? I would love a day in the life of Pocahontas before the settlers show up. I love the idea of self-sufficient living off the land.

What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten? On expedition in arctic Norway we soaked dried fruit in lab alcohol and used it to make trifle, the fruit pieces were called depth chargers. We also made unleavened bread; having sat for 4 hours in a sleeping bag with the dough to get it warm enough to rise we baked and ate it anyway.

Tell us about a time you got yourself into trouble as a child? My parents went out visiting just before Christmas and came home to find their eight year old rolling around the floor having sampled all the liqueur chocolates stored under the sideboard for the festivities.

Would you rather be able to fly or be invisible? Flying would be the coolest experience. As a child I was blown away by Jonathon Livingstone Seagull and yearned for the freedom to soar over cliffs and mountains.

Tell us about your party trick? Accidentally adopting everyone else’s drink (until it is empty).

If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be? “Head in the clouds, feet in the mud”

Would you rather attend school in Hogwarts or live in Narnia? I would rather live in Rivendell thanks.
