Reducing Your Carbon Footprint – The Renewable Way

March 26, 2012 : News

On the 10th May 2012 in Glasgow, Maximillion MD John Strachan will be speaking at a carbon reduction seminar, providing an insight into how he has halved his company’s footprint in four years.

As these hard economic times endure with costs rising in a flat market, it’s more important than ever to consider ways to reduce overheads. This seminar gives the financial imperative behind the benefits of implementing sustainable best practice across your business.

Organised by chartered accountant associations ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW, the seminar will take place at the very green Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow on Thursday 10th May from 1700 – 2030. The event is chaired by Jane Wood , CEO of Scottish Business in the Community and John’s co-speakers include Paul Adderley, MD of Sustainable Opportunity Solutions and Alex Smith, Senior Manager at PwC.

Maximillion has successfully measured and cut its own carbon footprint from 28 tons in in 2007 to 14 tons in 2011. From its Edinburgh Event Management base, key savings have been secured through a biomass heating system, solar thermal panels and improving the thermal properties of the building with new double glazing, a warm deck roof and thermal wall panels. Scotland’s principal Team Building company plans further reductions aiming to bring their footprint below ten tons.
