Rome set for David & Goliath fixture

Maximillion will compete with global big shots at the 2009 European Business Awards.

The European Business Awards will be held in Rome on 7th April 2009 and at it Maximillion will receive the Ruban d’Honneur with an opportunity to become the overall winner of the Environmental Awareness Category. First, Maximillion’s MD, John Strachan will travel to Rome in February to present the case to a panel of expert judges and hope to persuade them of Maximillion’s worthiness.

There is, however, significant competition from throughout Europe to overcome.  Global household names such as Kingfisher (owner of B&Q), Dell and Ricoh alongside large nationals such as East Midlands Airport and Telekom Austria will all compete with Maximillion in the same category.   Asked why a relative minnow like Maximillion would have caught the judge’s eye alongside such heavyweight contenders, MD John Strachan commented “I think that most organisations approach their environmental management as a systems based process designed to drive efficiency and cost savings.approach has been different, focusing on values and behaviours with some systems then built around these to support.  We believe that this correctly puts the horse before the cart”.

Earlier this year, Maximillion won the Environmental Awareness Award at the Orange National Business Awards for Scotland, a challenging category with Scottish Power and Wiseman Dairies as fellow finalists. This award complemented Maximillion’s GTBS (Green Tourism Business Scheme) Gold Award, received in June this year.

Maximillion is now regarded as the most sustainably adept event management business in Scotland, whose customers use their service to make sure their own events leave a greener footprint behind.
