Top 5 Energisers

January 7, 2011 : General Team Building

Energisers are quick team building activities that breathe life into a group and provide motivation and stimulation at any point in your conference agenda or before a team building session. They can be delivered at any suitable venue in Edinburgh, Scotland, across the UK and even further afield!

Below are my top 5 energisers which I personally enjoy organising (and participating in) and which work well at giving the group extra energy and focus.

Boomwhackers
Boomwhackers is a fun, energetic team building activity which requires a little bit of rhythm and a lot of enthusiasm! Everyone is given a pair of “boomwhackers” and a rhythm before coming together as a team to produce a unique beat! We can organise this event in Edinburgh, across Scotland and beyond for groups of up to 400 guests.

Top Trumps
Replicating the classic card game, Top Trumps is great team building for a group, allowing them to get to know each other better through comical questions such as ‘who has the best party trick’ or ‘who looks most like a celebrity’. The top trump of each team steps forward to demonstrate his/her skill in a bid to win valuable points.

Balloon Tower
Balloon Tower is one of my favourite team building activities! Teams get a bag of balloons and balloon pumps to build the tallest self-standing tower before time is up. The competition really begins when team members pop other team’s balloons…but of course that results in minus points! And what do points make…?

Beach Ball Bingo
Beach Ball Bingo really is how it sounds! Each team or individual is given a bingo card which they complete by catching and throwing beach balls. This team building activity is fantastic at energising a group during a conference as it works perfectly with teams sitting around tables before the main plenary session starts.

Bag Beat
This musical energiser will have your whole team working as one! Each member is given a type of bag, be it a shopping, garden or bin bag, with which they create a contrasting bass rhythm using different wrist motions and techniques. This team building energiser amazes me as it requires little space and the end result is amazing!
Maximillion delivers energisers and longer team building activities in Edinburgh, Scotland, across the UK and beyond.
