Turnberry and Maximillion join forces in outdoor adventure

May 29, 2013 : News

Maximillion has entered into a joint venture with Turnberry, the Luxury Collection Resort located on the Ayrshire coast, to provide a new outdoor activities centre under the new brand “Turnberry Adventures”.

Turnberry Adventures will open on the 8th June with a redeveloped site which will offer a large range of activities for corporate and leisure guests on the 800 acre Turnberry Estate.

Both parties are investing into the new initiative which will include a redeveloped activity centre with a fully tailored range of outdoor activities including a redesigned clay shooting school, quad trails, purpose built archery and air rifle ranges and an upgrading of the 4×4 off-road driving track. Additionally, Maximillion will provide a wide range of team building programmes for the corporate market both inside and around the hotel.

John Strachan, Managing Director of Maximillion stated; “Maximillion have been working with Turnberry for a number of years and entering into a joint venture to manage Turnberry Adventures is an exciting new development which provides us with a permanent base to work from on the west coast. Turnberry Adventures will be available to non-hotel guests and we look forward to developing the local market in partnership with Turnberry for both business and leisure groups.”

Jordi Tarrida, General Manager of Turnberry Resort, commented;  “While we have had a long history of offering some outdoor activities, we recognise from our discussions with Maximillion, there is really much more we can do. This, coupled with a gentle increase in large corporate bookings, gives us the confidence to move forward with the investment and launch Turnberry Adventures next month.”
