Seccl Conference & Company Away Day

Project Overview

In May 2026, we handled the event planning, conference set-up and entertainment for Seccl, the investment technology business which is part of the Octopus group, at The Pavilion, Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh.

Seccl already had their venue secured and a vision in mind.

What they needed was someone to take on the project management, pull the suppliers together and deliver it on the day. That’s where we stepped in, shaping their idea into a full 220-guest company day that mixed business updates with a proper celebration.

The Challenge

Seccl needed a partner to help take the pressure off them. They needed someone they could trust to manage the project, coordinate the suppliers and take control on the day – taking the logistical load off them so they could concentrate on delegate management and the conference content. Their key requirements were:

• An AV solution for a short on-site conference with multiple speakers.
• An outdoor space with a mix of activities to suit everyone.
• Outdoor catering with cover, whether the day brought rain or blazing sun.
• Coach transport arranged across several movements.
• Support with internal communications to their staff.
• Someone to pull every element together into a solid itinerary and site plan.

Our Solution

End-to-End Project & Supplier Management

We took over all the communication and planning with the venue and catering teams, then sourced and managed the other suppliers the day needed:

• Coaches
• A stretch tent
• Professional printing
• Photographer
• A range of team building activities

From there we built the event out, with a detailed itinerary, a site plan and the risk assessments to match.

To keep Seccl in the loop without adding to their workload, we ran weekly check-in calls throughout. They always knew exactly where things stood, which meant their team could step back from the operational detail.

A Conference-Ready Space

We installed AV into their conference room so the space was ready for Seccl to run company updates and presentations for the full team. They’d originally been quoted for marquees, but we suggested a stretch tent instead. It gave them far more flexibility for both the weather and the activities, and kept the space covered while still feeling open and inviting rather than boxed in.

An Afternoon of Celebration

We explored a few themes and activity packages before landing on a relaxed fun-day afternoon with something for everyone.

The line-up included:

• Highland Games activities
• An inflatable bungee run
• Fun fair stalls
• Garden and pub games
• A graffiti painting workshop, building up to a bespoke Seccl piece
• An outdoor PA system with live music and a compère

The Result

Seccl’s 10th-anniversary day came together exactly as planned. A focused post-lunch conference, then an afternoon of activities for all 220 guests.

Because we took on the logistics, the suppliers and the on-site delivery, Seccl’s team got to be part of the day rather than having to run it all without support.

The result was a well-organised event that balanced the serious business bits with a genuine celebration, and it was a fitting way to mark ten years of Seccl.
