How Crime Scene Investigation Works

What are the rules of CSI?

Ideally delivered as a surprise, the event starts with the arrest of one of your delegates. The event is designed to be inclusive, with each of the activities being brief, fun and can be completed to any standard without their output adversely affecting the overall result. There is an equal blend of all-inclusive activities where all teams compete at the same time and those completed individually within the team.

Like a real-life dynamic incident room, there are options, depended on weather, your chosen venue and preference. Such as including drug testing, an area search, forensic photography, ballistic analysis and with some prior planning, to embed any messages or learnings of company’s core values or own bespoke content.

The whole event is run against a backdrop of humour, tall tales of real life crime deploying and genuine methods and equipment such as fingerprinting, photo-fits and the use of two way radios.

The event concludes with a whole team collaboration presenting their findings and interpretation of the crime scene and the screening of all their photo and video output, including photo-fits and TV appeal videos.

Who is CSI for?

CSI offers a positive and light-hearted team building session suitable for company away days, or team/department activities. CSI focuses on celebrating wins and achievement rather than highlighting omission, failings and training needs or gaps in delegates’ understanding or knowledge.

Suitable in most venues, with an emphasis on choosing the right setting. Re-create the intrigue of a classic crime mystery in a Castle or Country House.

The skills developed include those of communication, time management, human resource deployment, humour, positivity, questioning, adaptability, attention to appropriate detail, solution orientation, taking on new ideas, integrity, active listening and observation, leadership, organisation, creativity and lateral thought.

How long does CSI last?

CSI is flexible dependent on your itinerary, however usually lasts between 1.5 and 2.5 hours.

Client Kudos

Like many other professional service providers, we are often metaphorically ‘spinning plates’ and ‘juggling’ competing priorities, so it was great for our team to try these challenges in real life. We discovered hidden talents and it reinforced that working as a team and providing a supportive learning environment are key to delivering an excellent result. Thank you to Maximillion for your support and encouragement during this fun event, as well as for your professionalism in pulling together a slick activity for 220 people.
